Notice from Lesley Hogg

I am writing to inform you that my father Jack (John) Hogg has passed away. Until recently he always attended the MOGs Christmas lunch which he enjoyed with a glass of red!  Perhaps this year you could raise a glass to him?

Tributes

From John L

Yes, sad news. I worked with Jack on Mayflower - a different century!

From Peter B

Yes, sad indeed. Jack worked with me on Bacchus. I also met him in retirement at the Orange Tree at MOGS functions.

From Malcolm M

Sad news to hear that Jack has passed. Had dealings with him on S723, when the Quality side with EQD were all over us like a rash, as we had major technical problems. Jack was pretty astute and could get to the heart of the problem, no matter the smokescreens put up. He was always fair though, and understood the mechanisms that had to be employed to alleviate the situation, so that progress could be made. Used to meet him down at the Orange Tree some years ago before the pandemic, and also see him pottering in his garden. But since my daughter has moved away from around the corner from him, haven’t seen him for a couple of years.

RIP Jack.

From Brian C

Yes Jack was a fixture. Solid and dependable.  Can’t quite remember how we  connected but surely we did. Maybe through tech service group; Charlie Alison et al?

Surely RIP Jack

Very sorry to hear about Jack Hogg who worked with me as a Group chief on the Jugoslavian, Bacchus Project 1984-1988.

He was a very good engineer and always adopted a fairly low profile with no problems. I believe he had worked as a teacher at one time and always had sympathy with the underdog and those who needed a little help.

RIP Jack and we will miss you at the Christmas get together.

From Neil B

RIP Jack you were one of the best Q &A’s to interface with, practical and above all reliable.
In short a safe pair of hands who solved problems, not just highlight them!
